  Sponsor Information for Confirmand (Student)
  
  Sponsor: The Confirmation Sponsor is the person who will stand by the candidate and place his hand on the candidate's shoulder at Confirmation. The Sponsor will also attend Confirmation-related activities.
  
  Guideines: The sponsor should be 16 years of age or older, and be a baptized, confirmed, practicing Catholic in good standing and who fills the Sunday mass requirements. In additon the sponsor must be able to complete Catholic Cultural Experiences and assist confirmand and parent/guardian in completing confirmand service experience requirements. Sponsor needs to live a maximum of 1 hour away (able to be present for sponsor requirements) and willing to travel for above referenced experiences.

  Faithfully/weekly attendance to the communal celebration of the Eucharist (every Saturday or Sunday).
  
  Reception of the Sacrament of Reconciliation as needed by myself or as a family, and to encourage the candidate to receive as needed, especially during the season of Lent and as the date of Confirmation approaches.
  
  Have weekly discussions about faith and the Catholic Church with your family. Examples: Sacrifice, Mary, Importance of Prayer, Unconditional Love, Salvation, Peer Pressure, Humility and Virtues, Saints, etc.
