Thank you for your interest in the sacrament of marriage at St. Ann! If you're engaged or thinking about engagement, congratulations on your relationship. St. Ann will be happy to explore your receiving the sacrament in the Catholic Church.
Marriage preparation and weddings are normally for members of St. Ann, though exceptions can be made due to previous or personal connections, or for the good of the couple. St. Ann can prepare members to be married here or elsewhere, and can also welcome weddings here for couples prepared elsewhere. Priests of St. Ann can sometimes celebrate weddings elsewhere by special arrangement.
Arrangements for marriage preparation and wedding scheduling are done in person through Fr. Mitchel. At that initial session, the freedom to marry will be verified, the intention to receive the Church's understanding of marriage will be verified, negotiations on wedding policies will be made, arrangements for marriage preparation will be made, and any questions will be addressed. Inquiries on dates and availability may be made in advance, but no reservations will be secure until after this first meeting, and any required deposits are made.
Our wedding guidelines will answer most of your questions.
Wedding Guidelines St. Ann
It is a precept of the Church that Catholics who are married receive the sacrament and grace of marriage within the Church. If you were married outside the Catholic Church and wish to bring your marriage into full communion with the faith, we are thrilled to help you with the convalidation process. Previous marriages will need to be annulled and we are eager to help with that process as well. Please contact me.
