Pastoral Council

What is the Pastoral Council? 
The name of the organization is the Pastoral Council of St. Ann Catholic Church of Prairie Village, Kansas. The role of the Council is to act as an advisory body to the Pastor.

Governing Mission Statement
St. Ann Catholic Parish is a faith-filled community that lives the love of God through Word,Sacrament, and Service. The Pastoral Council assists the Pastor in carrying out this mission by:

• Providing information and recommendations to the Pastor which reflect the spirit of the parish community and ensure future growth and development;
• Fostering communication, coordination and cooperation among parishioners and parish organizations;
• Promoting opportunities for adult and youth to participate in spiritual enrichment, religious education, faith formation, and service to the poor and neglecte

Members

The Pastoral Council shall be comprised of at least fourteen members, including at least twelve discerned members from the congregation and at least two ex-officio members, the Pastor and Pastoral Council Staff Liaison appointed by the pastor. An Associate pastor, if assigned to the parish, should also be included as ex-officio member.

Meetings
The Pastoral Council will meet on the second Tuesday of the month. Meetings will not be held in December or July.
